  • An evening walk with my Shadow...

I love that cold assault on your nostrils and senses when you step out of the warmth of your home into a crisp late Autumn; Early Winter night.
The smell of moisture just on the cusp of freezing point, the faint hint of someone's open fire burning seasoned logs and a few coal fueled fires adding to the tint of crispness.

It's not cold, it's fresh, a brisk walking pace is all you need to keep you warm as you watch the vapour of your breath with each lungful.
The dog by my side enjoying the quickened pace, still sniffing and mooching in the now frost touched leaves still on the ground. Little shards of ice crystals starting to form on the blades of grass he pads over quickly while seeking out the next scent to catch his attention.

The ground slightly slippery from the building up of ice particles, letting you know that soon it will be thicker and proper ice, so to watch your step.

Even while out this afternoon the sky showed a hint that snow is coming and the low sun in the sky is to be enjoyed, the blaze of the sun more serene and gentle now the Summer has gone, yet the light is far more breathtaking at this time of year. The clouds wispy and faint, like a beach that has been swept by a strong wind and a quick tide. The Blues stronger, the reds more sombre, the colours between ever more gentle.

A feast for your eyes and a treat for your senses.

I love all that - apart from having a dog, venturing outside in the cold, and having to do the walking bit.

](Only joking -I really enjoy being out in icy/ frosty days)

I'm happy with my dog, lottie and home life, work sucks though. :P

Had to take an off season job to get through winter, though got applications in for something better so fingers crossed.

Thanks all, just came to me while I was out walking with Shadow, thought I'd get it written down and share. (:
