  • Eden Project

Went to Eden yesterday it was ok but I would like to go back in a different season as we went this time last year, the sweet peas and the sunflowers not very good this year, the allotment bit was better, as was the den building bit for kids, and the sun was shining.
If you go there make sure you register your card and you can return for free for twelve months.

we were supposed to go 5 years ago - but ended up on the beach instead, it was the year we had 100 degree heat and we decided the beach was the only place to be!! Shame really, I'd love to have gone - but not in those temperatures!!

As for den building - I'll let KirstyB fill you in with that one! -

I went in June and it was hot in those domes! but good fun, didnt really think much of the 3rd dome though, not really my thing. We used my 2 for 1 card from gardeners world and also registered to return in 12 months for free. Not a bad day out for £15 for two of us!

We went in June last year and for the 3 of us it cost £40. We registered but as we live in Leicestershire we never got to go back.
We really enjoyed it, even the OH and hes not into gardening(unless it involves woodworking). Our son Kyle who was 12 at the time loved it.
I would have liked to have gone back in all the seasons.

Thats what I want to do and maybe this year we will but we will have to pay again as our tickets run out on the 21st of this month, its a good idea if you either live fairly local or go to cornwall a lot visiting friends or family.
If you havent been and you are down that way its worth a visit even in the rain.

I visited the Eden project with my OH and the kids about four years ago, in October, it was really busy at the time and because the rest of the family have little interest in things of a gardening nature, we kind of rushed through it. It was a shame as I would of liked to have had more time to really enjoy the visit. As it is I remember very little of the plants, we seemed to spend more time in the cafeteria!! I do however remember that being very expensive too and none of us liked the crisps!!

Anyhow at some point I intend to return, and also check out the gardens not far from there I believe `The Lost Gardens Of Heligan` which the family also lacked my enthusiasm for visiting.

Went when it was being built and have tied it into 3 holidays at slightly different times of year since. The domes are hot what ever time of year you go, just remember to layer! Personally I like the outside bit best and spend several hours wandering around there. Had to giggle to myself last time, in the lottie bit there was a real know it all bloke telling his kids what everything was, pity that he thought that chard was rhubarb though!

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?
