earrings help

    earrings help

    I want to buy some earrings, in a particular style, but can't find them anywhere, not in shops nor online. I can't afford to spend much more than a tenner.

    The nearest I can get is like the ones in this picture, but with the drop cut off: I just want the curly bit at the top, to be worn as a stud not a dangly earring.
    If they were cheaper I'd buy them and cut off the drop.

    Any ideas? Links, suppliers, designers?

        Hi TwoSheds - have you looked at the Jacqueline Kennedy collection on QVC? There are some more classic styles as well as the 'chandelier' styles.

              Have you thought about making them for yourself? You can pick up the bits pretty cheaply and easily these days.

              Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

                I know it sounds daft but both Tesco and Sainsburys do fab ranges of really good quality jewellery and i know that Sainsburys has lots of stud earrings as opposed to drops.
                So you could try there.
                When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant. ~Author Unknown

                  I've just had a quick look at New Look website (been tasked with finding a sticky out 'fashion' tutu. Anyway. And saw these. You're a resourceful sort, and for £3.00 I'm sure you could have a bash at putting a stud backing on something like these and taking off dangly bit. I was amazed at some of these and D Perkins actually - some nice styles and very cheap.

                  When do you need them by? I've got a little welding torch and jewellery tools (and all the fixings) and would be happy to do it for you.

                      What I'm looking for (I didn't explain well) is an earring that goes up the ear rather than hangs down.
                      Something curly or filigreed perhaps, def. something that looks organic like it's growing up the ear!

                        I wondered if it was the 'growing up the ear' thing that you wanted. Very striking - haven't seen anything like that but have tons of online shopping to do, so will look out.
