  • Driving ~ your bad habits please!

. I really hate drivers who race to a junction/roundabout, then slam brakes on, instead of gently accelerating & decelerating.

I like to indicate and get in the right lane and make sure there is enough space for me to get out of a junction. This seems to infuriate lots of drivers! I don't always stick rigidly to the speed limit on the motorway

I tend to ride the clutch a bit, which OH goes mad about And speed limits on motorways/dual carriageways tend to be a bit elastic..

He (as a passenger) is terrible, huge gasps if he think I'm too close to anything on the passenger side, does pretend braking etc. I refuse point blank to drive him anywhere now, he drives me potty! As a driver, he drives too near the middle of the road, doesn't indicate properly for roundabouts then curses other people who don't indicate

Starting.. stopping.. and the bits in between and I get terrified when I travel as a passenger.

My OH is on the shortlist for 'worlds worst passenger'. My worst driving happens when I have someone in the passenger seat who I enjoy conversing with. I can get distracted. I am sure this would not happen if I drove 'with passenger' more often. It is the novelty factor that distracts me! I drive best when my passenger doesn't talk back, and my best passenger is Gemma (the dog). <g>
I don't speed more than marginally.

I do own the road - the amount of fuel duty and road tax I pay must certainly count for that!

I am quite impatient, and can be critical of most other motorists - except Porsche owners, who even I can't keep up with.

              I drive like a bloke.

I'm the best driver in the county! I'm surprised you didn't know that!

OH however has been a practising old f*rt for a long while! He waits till he's right on top of a roundabout before he indicates, he definitely needs his night vision checking, and why do old men (he's 60!) gravitate towards the centre of the road as they get older?
If I'm being honest, I ride the clutch too!

Me - getting distracted by hedges, shops, people, just about anything really...commenting on how people look ... again not a good role model for the children when mum is cackling at spotty yoofs instead on watching the road!

OH - driving too close, too fast behind other cars, very embarrassing when it's someone you know!
