  • Don't forget ..

Haven't time to search for the thread as I'm off and running, but don't forget those who are interested that Hugh's Fish Fight is on Channel 4 in 2 minutes.

(I'm recording it, but watching the other side!)

Recording it and we've signed the petition. It's scandalous as most tripe out of Brussels.

It is scandalous but I was disappointed at the lack of demand for the lesser known fish when they landed the whole catch.

As a nation we must embrace buying and eating a much wider variety of fish. Unfortunately our biggest fish retailers are not likely to stock it. Even our brilliant fishmonger is likely to be wary of stocking more "cheap varieties" as our propensity to bargain hunt will affect his profit margins........

I am up for trying as much new fish as possible......

I enjoyed the program last night, but like Newton I was disappointed with the lack of enthusiasm for the lesser known fish. Could it be the fear of the unknown... possibly!!!. Maybe if one or two of the well known chefs put these fish on there menus they might get to be more popular. I remember a time when monk-fish was put into cat food or thrown back...now it's very expensive to buy.

I also signed the petition, let's hope the bureaucrat in Brussels listen to the little people this time.

Monk fish was known as the poor man's lobster and now it is as expensive as...
