    Charming! Thanks for posting.

As a foster carer for a dog with end stage arthrirs I wrote this for the chrities Christmas mag

          Archie Meets Santa Paws
Just before Christmas and, all through the house,
Everything was moving, thank God, not a mouse
Archie and Messy wanted a wee, same time as normal,
          twenty past three!
Bouncing and wagging, they charged out the door,
Then stood stock still, moving no more.
Because there stood old Ruldolph, with all of his mates,
Just by their wee spot, left of the gate.
'Whoa' what a big dog, was Archie's first thought,
Followed by, 'Look at the presents they've bought.
Messy was hiding, but Archie was brave,
As Santa approached them, from behind the sleigh.
'You are a good dog, Archie old bean,
You have seen something no human has seen,
This shows you are special and, what is more,
You can't spill the beans about the real Santa Paws'.
Santa made his apologies and said he must go,
To make more deliveries, regardless of snow.
He jumped onto the sleigh and gave a great 'Woof'
The pack vanished in seconds, Just like that - Poof!
Archie and Messy now knew for a fact,
The real story of Santa, was about a dog pack
Messy still whimpered and Archie said 'gee'
'Stop shaking greyhound, just go for a wee',
Archie was happy as he lay on his bed,
Legs in the air and nice thoughts in his head,
He had met Santa, and what was more
Santa turned out to be a huge labrador.

p.s I would encourage anybody that is thinking about a dog but cost is an issue to consider fostering. We got Archie 4 months ago as an end of life foster - we know exactly what that means but he has had a terrible life before and has been left with terrible arthriris - vet visit every month is paid for by the charity and they will also supply food and petrol costs if we wanted them too. He is gentle, quiet affectionate and great company for our 10 year old mostly blind greyhound.
