  • Does your cat love Catnip?

Apparently the cat world is divided into catnip lovers and catnip indifferent - in other words reactors and non-reactors. Out of my 2 - they both love catnip as shown by my pic of Casper having a roll on the floor with a new catnip mouse. At least the mouse was new a couple of days ago before it got dribbled over and chewed by two catnip addicts! How does your cat react?

My moggie loves the stuff. It's always a source of entertainment when we give him some.I usually scatter it around his scratch post. We call it his 'kitty drugs!'

Never test the depth of the water with both feet

The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory....

Always remember you're unique, just like everyone else.

        Mine all love it
There's always been a male/female divide though - the males always eat it, and then go barmy for a bit, whereas the females seem to roll around in it like mad things, then lick it all off and then fall asleep! Is this the same for all cats? We've had about 20 cats over the years (incl kittens) and they all seemed to be like that.

2 of mine out of 3 go mental for it! The other one just looks it them as if to say 'what is all the fuss about?'. lol One male and one female love it, the other female hates it.
They do fall asleep after. I think of it as a kind of drug induced stupor.. maybe they get the munchies after too?!

Judging by Casper's reaction after his rolling around earlier (which made me take the piccie) he has had a huge munchie attack just after and is now snoozing it off!

Bit weird you have started this thread, Ive grown cat nip for years, and currently my big Fred is working over a knitted triangle full of dried leaves.

They dont like the lemon scented stuff though, bit too strong on lemon for them.

                  I have the 2. that's plenty, especially at 2.30am!

It was weird this post appeared as my big Fred was right behind me at the time murdering the carpet because he was off his head on the mint.!

Jinny goes mad for it, I have a video of him rolling round the front room with some catnip chocolate drops what he had bought for Christmas last year, all suck to him. I bought him a new toy last weekend and he Looooves it, his face was saturated by the time I took it off him (welding gloves), then when he found the cubbard I'd put it in, he started scratching and mowing at it, and yes he gets the munches really bad after he's been playing with his catnip toys...OH calls him a druggie

See, Ginger, I knew that your cat would be a reactor - he just looks like one, doesn't he! So far we have only had a report of only one who does not go crazy for catnip. And there have been a lot of cats mentioned -including Sarz's 20!

I even bought some for the garden...he's very protective over his little clump of heaven, in the summer he can always be found curled up in it, I think that's why I have one off the most chilled out cats round where I live, unless another cat wants to sleep on his catnip bed that is .. MY CAT DOSE NOT DO SHAREING.
