  • Does anyone remember my last birthday?

    well if you remember last year from my other half gave me a blxxxy vase wasnt too happy about it at all...
    any way an update on this year i did warn him that its the big 40 for me.so he has been sneaking around for the last few weeks ,coming in the house with bags and i have to stay in the kitchen while he wraps and hides pressies.
    woke up saturday morning to pressies on the bed first a lovely card followed by some chocolates,then a ds game,then the plans for a new shed yippie at last ,now this is going to be built by a friend from scratch and is big 6ft x 12ft ish really looking foward to that bring built.
    well saturday afternoon sitting in the pub at a frinds wedding recepcion and who walks in ?????? my mum and dad all the way from france what a great suprise,i think this cant get any better until last night had a semi suprise party loads of friends turned up got more cards and pressies followed by an amazing birthday cake shaped as my allotment with all raised beds little miniture veg , veg in baskets, fork hoe trowel etc and in the middle a little figure of me weeding..have had a great time except the headache this morning

    Ooh Tracy - sounds like you had a great time and how sweet of OH to organise all that! Sadly I have to tell you that, next year, you will have to brace yourself and stick on that smile as you are most likely to get ... another blxxxy vase!

      See, that's what management folk call "managing expectations". Last year he did rubbish, so you didn't expect much this year.

      However, he's set himself up a bit for next year granted.

        OMG! Lucky you, I'm jealous of the shed and the cake come to think of it. It's my big four O next year maybe I should start dropping hints now.

                              thanks for all your bithday wishes i have found out last night the the wood and labour to build shed is nearly a thousand euros !!!!!! think i will have to try a different route
                              and good idea comfreyfan about printing my post off i think thats hilarious all you need to change the relevant age
