  • Doctors receptionist told me wrong information

Bet you can guess how I am feeling as it now turns out my anti nuclear antibodies are positive not negative as I was told the end of last week.

I only found out when I got home from visiting my grandparents today to find a letter asking me to make an appoinment following my blood test. I rang to find out why I need an appointment if it is all clear. It is only a faint postive which I hope may be a good sign but they need to see me to look into further before a proper diagnosis is made.

Will let you all know how I get on at my appointment tomorrow as I know you will all see me through this.

I didn't think receptionsists were allowed to disclose medical results as they are not medically qualified - at least that's how it works at our practice.

The lowest level of medic allowed to read off the results is a practice nurse.

Perhaps the receptionsist is also a nurse?

      Good luck with your tests.

Getting nervous now. Am gonna feel awful if I have got this thing and I pass it onto kids but I still want no. 3 - is that hypocritical? - sorry but cant help that. In laws are up for a visit today for between 3 and 5 nights (so yes am busy cleaning house!) and I know she is just going to make me feel like I am the one who has given the bad genes to the kids. *Note to self - must not let it get me down!* One of my friends knows someone who had countless miscarriages and was then diagnosed with this and she conceived and then carried full term with regular hormone injections before and during the pregnancy so I hope to be joining Lady Wayne very soon!

Hope everything's alright Tammy. It's a bit worrying when they ask you to come in but as they've said it's only a slight positive so it shouldn't be that bad.

staying possitive is all you can do for now,you have the support of a network of friends, there is nothing to reproach yourself for,and no,you are not hypocritical wanting another child,it's most womens natural instinct, try and ignore any hurtfull comments that come you way,if any one starts saying things out of place, invite them to a dr's appointement,to have the situation explained to them, personally from the horses mouth,i bet they soon back down, tell them it's coments like that ,that do damage, and is uncalled for, remember, you have friends, sending you a hug of comfort.
