  • Do you want Snow or not?

Just curious to know the majority view!
By "Snow", I don't mean a pretty dusting that's thawed the next day but enough to make you clear the paths and roads blocked.

No. Looks pretty, but it means hardship for many of the elderly & people on low income who struggle to heat their homes, and hardship for the wild birds and animals....
Pain is still pain, suffering is still suffering, regardless of whoever, or whatever, is the victim.
    Everything is worthy of kindness.

Well, now I've read KoA's post I feel guilty for voting YES!

However, being a member of Rover Rescue, gives me and Hubby the excuse to go help with Meals on Wheels and the like, so I'm not all bad!

If the councils did a better job of keeping the roads and paths clear as they used to do, my answer would change.

It's just started to snow here. I dread it when it snows now and turns into ice. Use love it when I was a kid.

Apart from being afraid of it (as in falling) it stops me getting to work as we can't get the car out of the side road and cars are already struggling to get up the main road! (You'll have gathered that it is snowing heavily here now).

This is my veg garden right now, after a couple of hours of snow:

The picture doesn't show it but it's still coming down quite heavily.

Hate snow. Roads get clogged up. All slippery, freezes at night then just lingers about like a bad smell.

Not a case of what we mere humans want but a case of what all powerful mother nature gives us, we just have to get on and deal with it.

3 to 4 inches here at the moment and still coming, dozy drivers with no idea already sliding on the hill. Where SWMBO comes from Buxton in Derby's this is known as a skittering and everyone would/will be going about their business as usual.

I suspect whether any of us want it or not, if it's gonna happen we will have very little say in the matter
