  • Do you think I might be allergic to work?

As you all know, I suffer with swollen ankles. I have been off work for 11 whole days. I have taken my usual medication. My ankles are not swollen. When I'm at work they swell up something alarming. I may have to retire.

If you are on your feet all day at work and they swell up I would think thats the answer, however if you have a sitting down job then you need to find out why they swell up.

When you're at home you do stuff at your own pace I think its that what makes the difference.

As it's a combination of the two Jackie, I think I am probably allergic to work. Just need a lottery win so I can retire now instead of in 7 years time.

Thanks Rog, I know I would love it, but I can't afford it. You don't fancy doing a raffle for me do you?

as above says it maybe something to do with your chair at work ?
i sometimes have get a swollen right ankle/lower leg and only whilst at work as weekends it goes down and iv'e put it down to the c**p chair i have and the orientation of chair to desk as i have an under desk filing cabinet which means i sit to the desk at a slight angle favouring the right side
luckily just had all new office furniture and chairs installed through workplace upgrade so be watching how things pan out over the next few weeks

Aww thanks TLO, but we have regular Workstation Assessments to make sure our equipment and posture are ok. It seems I am alone in thinking I am allergic, even Himself thinks I am imagining things.

I knew you'd understand Binley. I think I may have to ask for patch tests tomorrow.

I think a lot of people are allergic to work, just most of them never quite admit it!
Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.

Already got a full box of A4 paper under the desk, but it doesn't make any difference, so I'm trying two
