lol, you can put me in the whinger category today.
I am glaring at my garden, and thinking that despite all the money i spent this year, it's still got miles to go before I can plant all i need to plant.

and for the first time in 30 years wishing i did drive after all despite my pride in being a non-driver and not adding to the chaos and pollution on our roads.

still this is a forum to be proud of, and I am proud to be a member.

Not sure how long I've been here, but I'm sure it feels like longer for some of you.

Of my many posts I'd say only a small minority have been of the helpful variety. Still, it's good to torque.

Sorry phil the shed, I don't go that far back (only joined the grapevine earlier this year).

What I do know, is that the regulars are a great bunch. I have known people ask for help with some fairly obscure gardening related problems and there is always someone that will try and help.

Then there is the mutual support group element to the vine. When s**t happens there is always a kind word and a hug (even if it can't be a real one).

My son who logs onto a fair few different forums can't believe what a friendly bunch we are. He often comments on the lack of back biting and nit picking on the grapevine.

This is a great place to visit.
It is the doom of man, that they forget.

I love it here - I have learned loads about gardening even if my garden still doesn't produce much due to my lack of energy at times (and the rubbish weather this past year). The vine is always the place I turn to to cheer me up if I am feeling low.

Off out now to let the hens free-range while I hopefully manage to dig over enough bed to plant my onions, garlic and brocolli plants.
          Happy Gardening,
          Shirley

I think this forum is totally fab. It's got a nice layout for a start, and once you get here the people are genuinely lovely.

There's a few differences of opinion, but we wouldn't be gardeners/humans if there wasn't...but most are sorted out more than amicably. And we have a MOM every month - which I can say makes one feel so proud *wipes tear away as will lose the banner any day now*.

            Big up the Grapevine.

I joined about a year ago and was number around 3500, the maximum number of people ever online stood at about 330. Numbers have certainly escalated since then and that figure of 330 is regularly passed just in the general course of an average day now.
Into each life some rain must fall........but this is getting ridiculous.

I couldn't agree more. I am on a few forums or fora? and I have seen some pretty bad back biting and negative comments on other sites but never on The Grapevine. I have made some very good friends on here (real and virtual) and, before anyone says anything I'm not a Billy no mates honest

I have had some great inspiration and help with my gardening along with a good few laughs and loads of free seeds.

Cheers Grapevine and all who sail in her.

I can't say what category I fit into, in all of them at various stages I guess, but then that is true of us all.

When I stumbled on the Vine it was during research for a project - I was welcomed from the out, we didn't have the 'Hello' section then. I have met some fabby Grapes in flesh and each meeting has been the bestest
