  • Do you ladies wear make up for work?

Ive never really noticed before today but I am the only lass who wears make up at work. This only came about as another lass had mascara on and I thought she looked different.

She said she doesnt bother with make up as its only work so whats the point, but I thought us lasses put make up on for our selves?

Does anyone else wear or not wear make up for work, is there any reason behind this?

I used to when went out to work, now work from home tend not to bother, also with walking dog in rain and wind tends to have better effect without any on
I will if seeing customers, tend to wear mascara with having fairer lashes though.

Very rarely wear any except if I'm going out for something fancy. Day to day I think that most people look much better natural and saves me loads of tine not having to put it on and take it off and saves me money I suppose .

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I have never been that fussed with wearing make up and certainly didn't bother for work. I worked in quite a few bloke environments where I was one of the lads so wearing make up just attracted comments I couldn't be arrised with

All the time because I'm worth it

In my real life, nope, life's too short to be fussing with makeup

Hell no, I've never had a job where makeup would be appropriate zoo keeper, chef, gardener. I don't even both if I'm going out. 2 reasons, 1 I have better things to spend my money on. 2 it looks like a four year old has put it on ok there's 3 reasons. 3 I can't be bothered.
I wear makeup for weddings but I get someone else to put it on for me
I've never been very girly you may have noticed that from other threads

I work from home 99% of the time and on those days I never wear makeup, I fact I can often be found at my desk in PJs

As I've said on a previous post, I work in IT and am currently rolling out new software to the company I work for, 50k employees and I'm meant to be one of the company evangelists for this software. This new fangled software includes Skype video conferencing. I'm often asked why I am not available for a video call so that I can demo what I'm rolling out, err....... That will be the PJs and lack of makeup

When I head down to Londinium I'm always fully made up and without the PJs, wouldn't want my colleagues to know the 'real' me lol

                      yes- but minimal.

                      always have.

I look less tired and more 'tidy'

Having said that- last week I'd just washed my hair and a client arrived an hour early- so I just had to chuck off the towel and grin like an idiot!

One thing I have never worn is lipstick, yuck that sticky stuff. Also, having never worn it for years and years whenever I 'give it a go' I always think that I look like a clown so it's swiftly wiped off

Thinking about this I suppose I don't really get the full "made up" look. Subtle definition can look nice but the full face always looks weird and mask like and an awful lot of effort. Do usually manage to put nail polish on my toes in summer but that usually to cover up grotty nails (I'm so classy ) and at least it lasts a week or two so low maintenance.

I don't own any face paint - do you think it would help if I did?

I've had jobs that call for it and those that don't. Sometimes I've worn it, and I enjoy doing it, but the majority of the time I don't. I find the whole falsity of it strange....

Increasingly I'm finding my colleagues, even the v senior ones, just aren't doing it.
