  • Did no-one watch the Royal Wedding then?

Came on to the Chat forum expecting to see a Royal Wedding thread, but can't see one. So did no-one watch it then?

Against my better judgement and although I'm not particularly a Royalist I watched the whole event! I think what started me off was I watched that C5 Kate & Wills movie...and being a sucker for romance I wanted to see how it ended!

Well I thought the trees and stuff in the Abbey was a great idea - apparently they're going to be planted out at Highgrove? I've never worn a frock, but I thought Kate's get-up was lovely & classy. He looked quite sharp too. All-in-all I think they did a good job of sharing their private day with the whole world...loved the driving off in his Dad's Aston Martin - hope he didn't prang it! Good luck to them.

P.S. Oh and if you're anti the RW please don't post cos I don't give a fig and don't want to read it. LOL!

I watched part of the vehicle cavalcade, and waited to see 'The Dress' I thought she looked beautiful and elegant. I turned it back on and watched the 'Balcony scene' too. It was lovely to see such a huge turnout of people. I hope they both had a lovely day.

The ugly sisters were shocking!!! The whole wedding was stunning, made me cry, I loved it! Everyone was dressed so beautifully and tastefully except Beatrice and Eugenie, I couldn't stop looking at them. They couldn't even sit upright in the car with those rediculous hats/fascinators

          Anyway, it was wonderful

Oh lordy!!! I watched a lot of it, smb, but I missed them!! Eeek. I heard one reporter saying how fabulous they'd looked...think they need their glasses prescription checking!

The bride, however, looked stunning. The dress, hair, veil and tiara were beautifully simple and elegant, and it was reassuring to see how much in love they are. I wish them every happiness.

I watched it and thought the abbey looked breath taking, my son watched it with me and when they sang Jerusalem we both had a tear in our eye. Thought they both looked amazing. Great to see so many folk enjoying the day too.

Oh, Manda - now you have surprised me, you old softy.

I watched this with my brother - who had been part of ringing a quarter peal on the village church bells in honour of the occasion.
We enjoyed it - but what was nicest was his reaction to the quiche I cooked for him (asparagus and goat's cheese, an idea from Ginger Ninger - made using Binley's shortcrust pastry recipe) - pronounced 'absolutely delicious' by my taciturn sibling!
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

I was up early this morning so I got all mi potting on & weeding done in time to watch it. Sooo glad I did, Kate looked like a proper Princes in a beautiful classic dress. William looked very handsome, Harry looked more nervous than his big brother. Loved the bit at the alter when William looked at his bride and told her she looked beautiful.
There's one thing you can say about the Royal Family...they do pomp better than anyone else in the world.
Best bit...the kiss, I'm a big softy at heart.

The Beeb has a video of them driving off in the Aston Martin...

Yes, I'm an old softy - nothing wrong with a bit of romance! Love makes the world go round.

I've found this photo of Princess Grace Of Monaco on her wedding day. Kate and Grace's dresses look alike, but in a Classy way.

                        And here's a photo of...THE CAKE...WOW.

PS so you know I'm really irredeemable I'm watching the BBC1 highlights of the event now!
