  • Defrost the Turkey

Dont forget to take the Turkey from the freezer, I have just taken mine out as I leave it in the cellar in a bag in a dish covered with tea towels, Its really cold down there.

We buy fresh when we're "doing Christmas" but not my turn this year so not bought one although did buy a frozen one from the farm we use after Christmas last year at half price so am going to look out for that again in the New Year. Went down a treat at Easter.

On a different note, has anybody else seen the food hygiene advert with the bloke being attacked by a turkey? Fair enough, advice to defost properly etc but they also tell you to never wash your bird. Yes I know you need to make sure you wash your hands properly afterwards but there's no way I'd not give my bird a blooming good wash, before I cooked it!

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I'm picking our fresh free-range turkey up tomorrow from a farm about 4 miles away. We had one of theirs last year and it was fan-blummin-tastic!
