  • decorating party - anyone interested??

for the past week i have been decorating the bedrooms:

    1. bedroom 1 - painted white all over 3 times and then large red polka dots (painted by hand & with patience) all over the walls - note: this is the girls room, not mine! then cleaned the carpet!

    2. bedroom 2 - sons room, painted once with white and then 2 coats of dove grey on the walls - only the cutting in left to do!

    3. bedroom 3 - my room - to be done sometime very soon - 3 white walls and one wall with silver grey wallpaper with large flock print!

Now the glossing needs to be done in bedroom 2 & 3, any offers, i am knackered!!!!!!

ps. Also whilst doing this, have to do washing, ironing, clean house, feed kids and Oh and get the broom attachment out of my a@se!!

Well done you!! Madmax and I redecorated our sitting room a few weeks ago. It was red and is now a pale mushroom with Dulux 'Mud Hut' on one wall and in window recesses. It looks very mundane after the strong red and way too sensible for my liking.

I don't do gloss I am afraid - otherwise I would be there with brush in hand as I love painting.
    Happy Gardening,
    Shirley

you will feel a lot better when you have removed the broom attachment
we are trying to put coving up,and a lot more to do before we can begin to decorate,so sorry no time or energy to come and help, but don't forget~~~~to hide the broom,or refit it on another victim ,

I'm afraid after doing up our old house to sell, then moving here, and doing the boys rooms and transforming the garden from a weedery all since jan I have caved in and got a man in to do the utility room and OH's office. He only charges £100 quid approx for a room including ceiling and gloss paint and does a darn good job. It's a shame as I love painting but time and weeds wait for no (wo)man.

So I would love to come and help, but maybe when I get my place sorted first.. can you wait that long?!

Vicky and I have just finished her room, moved the boys out which made them sort all their stuff before going to uni in Sept. Ceiling and top walls in pale lilac, violet on the bottom, with a border between the two. Persuaded her out of black or dark purple all over! Looks very grown up, she is very pleased. The curtain rail is up, but we need curtain hooks, and the lamp shade just needs to be put in place. She is planning a 'room warming' party for her friends, presents compulsory
I'm looking forward to a 'rest' this weekend, doing the garden!
I could not live without a garden, it is my place to unwind and recover, to marvel at the power of all growing things, even weeds!
          Now a little Shrinking Violet.

I have spent 3 days Vaxing cat pee out of the carpets.

I am actually looking forward to painting as a bit of 'time out' But not yours, SquashySu !

Don't do DIY but if it means a trip to sunny Bedfordshire then why not!
