You have my deepest sympathies, I hate hate hate calling for business - thankfully I haven't had to do it for many years.

It's a bit of a niche market which is half the problem!

I design training plans for construction companies so that they can totally max out their ConstructionSkills/CITB grants; about 75% of companies who pay their CITB levy don't claim at all; and most that do claim for training grants are getting less out than they put in.

Unfortunately; the Top Guys always put us in touch with the training managers who just say 'we have someone who does it for us' and don't want egg on their faces to be shown what they have been missing out on for so long. As I used to work for the above organisation and used to train their advisers on what is and isn't available - I know my onions [so to speak].

Anyway - I've got a soup heating up now that I have been trying to avoid eating all morning; it is full of about 10 of your 5 a day [very very fullsome] - so I'd better get on, have that and get back on the phones.

I've made some calls, left some message and will continue along the path of righteousness in trying to equalise some financial goodness in the construction world.

I've left today's phoning to work on the one customer that I took with me - I am due to invoice him his first payment soon so have decided to make calls for half a day and work on his stuff for the other half.

So, back to spreadsheets for a few hours.
