I made it the first year we took over our old garden - very dandelion-ridden plot. It's quite a nice drink - as long as you don't think of it as coffee!

Aren't Dandelions supposed to be one of the most nutritous plants able to grow on land in this country?...second only to seaweed....which is obviously of the sea & not land!
Or was it all a dream???...I've never tasted any part of dandelion myself but the leaves are supposed to be good in a salad.

Yes, my niece calls it Wee Wee Leaves

The guinea pigs love it, but they are totally incontinent afterwards

My Mum said they made it during the last war when tea and coffee was in short supply. She said it tasted disgusting. They also made ice cream out of potatoes during the cold winters, goodness knows what that tasted like.

When DD was a toddler she went through a particularly fussy eating phase where all she wanted was "treats"...I'd often pop a scoop of mashed potato in a cone, surprisingly she'd get at least half way through before realising!(if you add a little beetroot you "almost" get strawberry!)
