    Dalai Lama Question

    This is not against religion, I'm a devote athiest.

    Why was there was a lot of media & press coverage when the Pope came to the UK but theres very little about the Dalai Lama?

    Just seems biased to me.

    In the 2001 census 151, 816 people in the UK professed the Buddhist faith, out of a population of 58,789,194, of which 55% professed adherence to the Christian faith, so Buddhists are a bit of a minority faith here - no matter how hard they try, unless the whole lot go to each city he visits, there are not going to be the same crowds that turn out for the Pope.

      Maybe Buddhism is, by its nature, a quieter set of beliefs, than Catholicism. I dunno Steve but I know which person I would rather hear speak.

        It was just one of those random thoughts that flitted through my brain.

        I dont knock any religion just as long as everyone would just get along live in harmony.

            I don't venture down the road of religion discussion either, far too many obstacles and pitfalls.
            Unfortunately more wars have been fought over religion than anything else.
