  • Cuban Gardens

Mr PP and I have just about recovered from a trip to Cuba, somewhere that has been at the top of my list for a while, being a little revolutionary at heart. Oh and the rum, landscape and gardens were pretty good too

Here are a few photos from an organic market garden in Vinales where we also had a fabulous meal of loads of veggies, the usual rice and beans and some rather good cocktails.
We ate a lot of cabbage, sometimes twice a day.

We also saw pineapple fields amongst the tobacco

and visited the botanical gardens at Cienfuegos
. This is the Royal Palm, the National tree of Cuba (I think!)

Go soon if you want to - everyone we spoke to was very excited about the almost certain lifting of the US embargo which will bring in much needed income. (They also thought that Fidel had probably already died, too.)
Buildings will be repaired or replaced and I fear a *bucks on every corner. Havana could end up looking like any other city
