I have decided to change our credit card. I am not concerned with the % as we pay of monthly by DD. I like to be rewarded for loyalty and was about to google 'best credit cards' but decided to get your opinion first.

Sorry, don't do credit cards - too easy to overspend. Had one a few years ago and never used it to the max but even so it was so easy to just pay the minimum per month and when I added up the interest I decided to do without it. Now I just use a debit card - if I can't afford something I do without it. -

I have a couple - for their own specific convenience.
The one I get 'summit' back from is the Asda card. Via 'Santander' and will give you an Indian Call-Centre - but you can requset transfer to UK call Centre - which I do, routinely, for payment etc.
Like you I pay off whole total monthly and get - though its going down rapidly - a point for every £4 spend outside asda - I think its double 'inside' asda and either 1p or half-p for every litre of petrol I buy. One point=1p - not a lot - but better than a kick in the you-know-what......s! Gone down big-time since the credit crunch. But my previous provider stopped ALL benefits!
I will review during course of year for 'best buy' - but for the time being this is the 'best' fit for me.
Of course if anyone knows of anything better and posts here - perhaps I'll be joining them!Comment

I use the M&S card. You get points for every pound spent and double if you purchase M&S stuff. Sounds similar to the Asda card above. I always pay the balance each month as the interest rate is exorbitant.Comment

I used to be like Rusty and Jeanied, my philosophy on credit cards was 'If I can't afford it, I can't have it'.
That's still my philosophy, but putting it on a CC gives me rewards and means I don't have to pay for it for a month. I never buy anything that I don't have the cash in the bank to cover straight away and I ALWAYS pay the full balance off each month.
I have a Sainsbury's card that gets me nectar points whenever I shop in Sainsbury's or fill up at a BP petrol station (amongst other places)
A Tesco's card that gets me clubcard points. I use this one for almost everything except shopping in nectar places.
They come in most useful when it comes to my work fuel expenses. As I pay for the fuel on my Tesco's CC I get clubcard points from the card, additional clubcard points from station (if it's Tesco's, which it usually is) AND I don't have to pay for it for a month despite the fact that work will reimburse me for it within 2 weeks!

I havn't investigated the several links I have been given but am interested in the Nectar points. I am on EDF dual fuel and they give nectar. I think maybe best to put all my eggs in one basket in order to accumulate faster.Comment
