  • Craft Fair - update

So, we sold about 80 jars of jam/marmalade/jelly and curd. We sold out of several flavours completely. The surprise favourite was Mango and Cardamom, with Red Plum and Cardamom and Rhubarb and Vanilla coming closely second.

We priced at £2 per jar, or 3 for £5. Several people bought 6 or more jars!
We had little pieces of brioche out, and 4 different 'taster' pots open (of the more interesting flavours). Experience was that if they tasted it, they bought it!

There was more interest in the more unusual flavours than the 'plain' jams and marmalades.

Here is a (slightly rubbish) pic of our stall. This is after we'd sold a bit (the initial rush) and we'd put out the taster pots

We made about £150 and several people even asked if we were at other craft fairs in the area! Mr OWG nearly fainted at the thought of that much jam!!

Well done Good for you, sounds as if the more unusual jams went well. I'm hoping to do as well at the Marché de Noel selling Christmas cards. Well done again.

Well done! Whenever I've been to Markets and sampled the tasters, I've usually bought the product. In general, I find that most of the 'Home-made' goods, and those made by smaller companies, are far superior to the mainstream preservative-laden 'gunk' you can buy in the shops. I think your pricing was about right, too. Any higher, and people will just taste and walk away.

When are you starting mail order!?
