  • Corona Cavern

Just got back from what I'm realising might be my last social weekend for a while. - mods may want to rename or delete this - I'd suggest a sticky where we can talk nonsense as if we were in the pub, at church, chatting outside school etc etc.

I'm planning to take the occasional drink, raise a glass and send a picture.

    Anyhow, take care all.

1574 gin and tonics please Monica, large ones.

Ah, good idea. It looks like I may well need to cancel my night out on the town with one of the big wigs at work. Darn. I do like a good night out.

With nothing else but home working and an essay to write, I will look to you all for some distractions and pleasantries and some of that drink please

Is this better??? The sun is shining and there is a little warmth to it, so I could handle one with you this early on in the year under the circumstances

We had planned a family party for this weekend. Saturday a birthday party for my ggrandson and Sunday for my daughter, granddaughter and myself. I'm the only one in the group to be in the "vulnerable" category. Also, my daughter was taking me to London to see a show for my birthday. The show has been cancelled.

I've cancelled my 6 month checkup at the hospital next week. I did ask their opinion and they said it was wise.

I don't know whether to incarcerate myself totally for 12 weeks or not. I can last for a week or two but I don't know about longer. It gives me an excuse to make up the 2 wine kits I have in the shed, put up the PT, varnish the front door and loads of other little jobs that have been hanging about waiting for the "round tuit", but that leads to getting hold of other stuff in order to do those jobs. I will need electric, so do I take a guess as to how much I will need to put on the key for 12 weeks?

My she shed could, at last, be sorted and changed into my hobby/party room, but it will be pretty lonely down there.

Start with the wine methinks. It'll be ready in about a week or two. You're all invited to help me drink it.

I suppose I'm vulnerable given previous heart op but this week I've been carrying on as normal.

My guess is the pubs will close soon which will change my daily lifestyle a lot

When that happens I plan to stay indoors only venturing out for dog walking and the allotment.

I know I shouldn't have needed an excuse/push but this has really focused me on getting as much work done as I can on the allotment.

These are scarey times grapes, stay safe.
                    Cheers

I'm immune suppressed and doing as I already did apart from.bringing shoppingnin as I have knee injury and cant drive. Have been careful.for 2yrs so I'm.used to this , I'm.not self isolating though. I have to go to hospital appts. May even go.off in caravan ...but not mix with anyone.

Shall enjoy a drink here in the meantime. What time does it open?

YAY what a good idea,we are in the over 70 group, first it was there are are to many of us from the earlier years, now we are looking at getting shot hehehehe,or arrested if we do go out,not really funny is it peeps, just as i got MR to go out ,never mind,it is what it is,am sure we can also share what to cook out of nothing as well, saturday asda was even rationing the normal milk out ,it is hard to believe just how greedy some peeps have been, saw on the news about a body, stock piled loo rolls, and then had the cheek selling them in a costco car park, what a cheek ,if we do end up with over 70's control, then they surely can get us some essentials when needed,or are we to become extinct through starvation, this is when i am glad i have a garden to grow, our own eggs, and a healthy freezer,so yes we are luckier than a lot, plus a garden to go out into the air.
sigpicAnother nutter ,wife, mother, nan and nanan, love my growing places, seed collection and sharing, also one of these

                            This is a great idea.

As it is Saint Patrick's day today, and the pubs are closed,
May I raise a toast to all.
To good health, long life and happy gardening.

And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.
