The greatness comes not when things go always good for you,but the greatness comes when you are really tested, when you take, some knocks, some disappointments;because only if youv'e been in the deepest valley can you ever know how magnificent it is to be on the highest mountain.

Do you mean a link like THIS?
If so, go to the page you want to link to, copy the URL starting with http:\\www.etc.
come back here, click on go advanced then on the link icon (a sort of world with a chain link at the bottom), paste your link in the box making sure that you don't duplicate http:\\ and that should do it. I always check that it works in the preview post before posting.

If you want to do it like I did with THIS then just highlight the text before you make the link.

    Clear as mud

Do you mean provide a hyperlink to another website? To do this in the reply box (not the quick reply) you will see an icon that is a globe and a chain link. So copy the URL of the website you want to link to and then click on the globe icon and paste the link into that and presss OK.

      Like this

APOD: 2008 July 5 - Comet Between Fireworks and Lightning

If you want to link directly from a word in your text then highlight the word, then click on the globe and then paste the link and you will get this.

You'll learn as much about computers on here as you will about gardening Cloud. But that's not a bad thing.

and if you should have a wish to do a ½ as I often do - use:
Alt + 0189 (holding down Alt whilst hitting the numbers) ...saves tons of time searching for the character map

I manage to 'get by' with just the basics! Haven't got a clue what half the little coloured buttons are on the vine or what most of the keyboard shortcuts are............I would rather just learn how to grow decent crops and take this new found knowledge to the allotment

"the link icon (a sort of world with a chain link at the bottom)"

Actually you don't need to do it that way, just put the
                              http://www.SomeDomainName.com/OtherStuff
URL thingie in the text and the system will go get that page, grab the Title from the page, and make all the [url] stuff for you auto-magically.

For example if I put the text for the URL for this thread:

                              http://www.growfruitandveg.co.uk/grapevine/newreply.php?do=postreply&t=19852

in this post I actually get:
