    If you grapes were on Come Dine with Me what would your menu be ?
    Here's mine:-

    Goats Cheese and Red Onion Marmalade Tartlets

    Roast Beef with a Horseradish Crust
    Mixed Vegetable Gratin
    Cabbage with Grain Mustard
    Roast Potatoes

    Raspberry and White Chocolate Cheesecake
    S*d the housework I have a lottie to dig

    Mmmmm sounds YUM (although I am afraid I couldnt eat the beef cos of being veggie) but everything else sounds YUm YUM YUM.

    When can I come over??!!! Lol!

    I have no idea what I would serve although would probably be on a Moroccan/Middle Eastern Theme

    Mezzes for starters (falafels, hummous, olives, pitta breads, stuffed vine leaves)

    Vegetarian Moussaka
    New Potatoes
    Salad

    Baklava or fruit for pudding

      Cor, that's a tricky one, whenever I watch CDWM, it doesn't matter how complicated or well thought out the menu is, some clever whatsit always says 'Oh, thats an incredibly easy menu, that won't take much cooking'. I think I'd do....

      1) Roasted Squash Soup (its my speciallity)
      2) Paella (coz I can easily make a veggie option from the basic recipie)
      3) Jamie's Flourless Chocolate Tart (pudding wouldn't be pudding without chocolate!) with marscapone.

            My menu would be:-

            Starter... Asparagus tips wrapped in Parma ham, hollandaise and a poached egg on top.
            Vegetarian option...Asparagus tips wrapped in carrot strips with a honey and mustard glaze.

            Main... Crispy duck breast with seasonal roast veg in honey and balsamic vinegar, parsnip & carrot mash.
            Vegetarian option...Roast seasonal veg risotto with Parmigiano-Reggiano Shavings.

            Dessert...A choice of crème brulee, Peanut butter ice cream or Lemon tart with mascarpone cream.

            A selection of Cheeses with biscuits.

              Theys have cameras Lovvie!!!

              I think I'd do curry.
              Starter of samosas and Bhajis and such like...prepared in advance.
              Main would be a Pumpkin Curry and either a Beef or Lamb one...extra hot so it's more of an accompaniment,with a spinach side dish and rice.
              Wine or beer for afties


              I've only watched a few,but never understand the peeps who choose intricate meals that have to be prepared at the last minute.

              I think I'd also hire someone's house for the event...couldn't be with them nosey peeps snooping around in me drawers

                I'd do:

                Starter: Curried Parsnip Soup with homemade crusty rolls, or Smoked Fish Medley & a green salad

                Main: Hugh F-W's Provencal Daube - with a seperate one made with beans for the veggie option

                Dessert: Chocolate Truffle Cake and/or Strawberry Cheesecake.

                All of it preparable in advance And no, I wouldn't want anyone rummaging through my drawers either...

                  Same here - I never understand why you would attempt a complicated dish you have never made before scant hours before a houseful of guests arrive!!

                  Starters - Onion bhajis, stuffed peppers
                  Main - Lamb and tomato curry, vegetable biryani, pilau rice, naan bread
                  Dessert - nigella's ice cream cake, key lime pie

                  No rooting around in drawers and cupboards though!

                    Starter - Pan fried scallops (with the coral) with rocket salad and lemon butter

                    Main - lamb tagine with apricots served with cuscus

                    cheese - continental style and served before dessert, good artisan stuff

                    Dessert - Chocolate fondant pots served with vanilla icecream and homemade ginger thin biscuits

                      Sorry but all of your menu's are far tooooooo simple and look like they require little cooking!

                      I would do - something difficult on a puree of something else with a whiff of something yummy, followed by something local/raised/grown by me on a bed of something unpronounceable drenched in an appropriate jus, followed by a trio of foam/mouse/chocolate/lemon light as air cream drizzle!!! all without breaking a sweat, laying on entertainment, sparkling wit and wine appropriate to the course!

                      I would really probably would burn everything before the guests arrived, and throttle the first one who looked at the dish the wrong way! HA HA HA!

                      I did see one episode where the lady had everything made by a local restaurant and passed through the kitchen window... No one guessed and I think she won!

                          Yum yum yum, I like the way you have included alternatives for veggies as well as your main ones, sounds very nice!! And am also a fan of cheese and biscuits for afters - YUM! This thread is making me huuuunnnnggggrrrryyyy!

                            Well mine certainly needs cooking but food doesn't have to be complicated to taste good.
