  • cleaning a patio

Over the years my patio has got a bit grimy and needs a good wash.
At one side of my patio I have a cherry fan tree and I should imagine its roots would have gone in all directions including under the flag stones.
I want to give the flags a good scrub and want to know if one of the proprietary patio washes would be ok to use. I know some are pretty toxic.
Has anyone had a similar problem with cleaning patio flag stones
    Any suggestions welcome

As per G4 I use a jet washer to clean the patio also does the green house and many other little jobs.

I don't use any detergent just plain water, had it 8 years now so its just about paid for itself.

Our patio gets a jet wash about twice a year. North facing, with lots of trees to the west, it doesn't take long to get black & slimy. Plain water, nowt else. Did our drive yesterday. Friend of mine uses the water from his water butt to make it even more Eco.
