  • Clean nails?

A bit silly I know but has anyone got any good tips for cleaning finger nails after a weekend of gardening?
I hate using gloves and love getting stuck right in, but no matter how many times I wash my hands, my nails are still stained.
Doesn't normally bother me, till the other day when we had the auditors in at work and I had to keep pointing to a piece if paper - I dread to think what he thought!!

I just use either scissors to clean under my nails.

And I use something else(forgot the name ha) that does clean under the nails. It's usually in a nail set.

I read somewhere that if you dig your nails into a bar of soap before you garden, no dirt can get in, and easy to wash out

            That does work

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I use a nail brush while soaking in the bath, then after getting dried, I cut and scrape the nails while the nails are still soft.
I too hate wearing gloves in the garden.

I do wear gloves, very thin, light cotton ones, but still get in a right state! I did buy some 'special hand cream' for gardeners to apply before you start working in the garden, but always forget to use it!

After scrubbing the nails, one of those 'white nail pencils' , can help, and a coat if clear or barrier nail polish.

Lemon juice works as a bleach and gets the stains off the nails.
