Does anyone have any famous connections that they aren't too ashamed to admit to?
    My claims to fame are:
    1) Gregory Peck (actor) - Apparently he is(was) some cousin or other. My dad's mum's maiden name was Peck. Gregory's Dad was a cousin or second cousin or something; a bit vague I know but I was small when the family was discussing it.
    2) Simon O'Brien (actor/presenter) - I went to Primary and Secondary school with him, was in most classes with him, not a proper friend as such but definitely amongst the 'known first hand' people.

                  Just remembered:
Ray Lambert (footballer) was good friend of my aunt and uncle and was their best man. My uncle was also his best man.

my great, great uncle Jimmy Brain is the second highest goal scorer for a single season for Arsenal, he played for them from 1923 till 1931 and scored 39 in 1925-6.

I once met Mick Jagger in Dublin, was too young to have any idea who he was.
Also met Chris Akabusi, Nick Gillingham (Gold medalist swimmer), Roger Cook (of the Cook Report), and last saturday night I kicked the international professional poker player Dave 'Devilfish' Ulliot in the shin, he was not a happy chap.
I'm also related to the Lord Mayor of the City of London (Not Boris Johnson, the other one)

Had dinner with my hero Sir Steve Redgrave a few years ago.

Lent the actress Emily Lloyd my pen in a pub just round the corner from the passport office in London about 20 years ago.

                              Met Douglas Adams.

Had a conversation with Rick Wakeman at the luggage carousel in Atlanta airport.

Was treated by the same physio who had treated Linford Christie (very embarassing, don't ask ).

Flew on the first ever BA 757 flight and still have the cert to prove it (how sad am I?).

Had a very short conversation with Jean Jacques Burnel, the bassist in the Stranglers (I was working security when they played at my University, he walked up to me and said "where's the bog" and I pointed him in the right direction).

My OH's brothers dog is in the Guinness book of records for having the loudest bark.
