  • Christmas lunch tomorrow

...with all of Snowdrop's crew - is that early or what

I'll feel silly wearing paper hats and pulling crackers, well - only until the second glass of red

When is your first round of Turkey?

We had our art class Christmas lunch yesterday. Well it was the last day of term so can be forgiven. Was quite funny to see a bunch of slightly squiffy ladies trying to paint later

Thankfully not until 17 Dec, can't stand them early - had a work on mid Nov one year, totally wrong :O

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

No Turkey this year!! Not going to work do as its a week night and himself works nights. Having beef this year for Christmas dinner, so it'll be Boxing Day at the earliest before I have to eat turkey

Thought you weren't meant to eat offal when preggers or is that just liver?

It's amazing any of us survive! If we followed all the advice we'd never get up but then again that would be bad as we'd get no exercise then either, you can't win!

Will only be having it once this year, on the day itself.
However I saw said turkey hatched, held it when it was about 3 hours old, and have seen it regularly during its life and shall be there to see it being despatched before Christmas dinner at friends.
Will be my first free range turkey, will be interesting to see how much different it tastes, not being a huge turkey fan.

OH has a posh work do (they are including the contractors too!) and as it's a bit far from us they are putting us up in the hotel where the do is to be held for the night. Stamford I think. Cool! I get to wear my new dress I bought last year and then we couldn't go anywhere (as contractors were not included for that company). And mum has the boys for the night - bonus!
Mind you the veggie option sounded v strange an can't remember what it was now!

I had my first Christmas Lunch on 29 November.... *sigh*

Got another one next friday (11th), and the saturday (12th), then another on the 20th then Christmas Day itself....

However, at several of these I have declined turkey, as I want to enjoy my turkey this year - it will be the first one we have reared and slaughtered ourselves.....

No turkey for me this year - no 'group lunches' of any sort as a) neither of us are working and b) I'm a billy-no-mates... And we're having a FR chicken for Christmas dinner, so no turkey then either
