  • Cheesy beans

I've just had lunch with SD whereby I rustled up a master piece of cheesy beans with a dash of Worcestererershiiyyre sauce on toast - I am now looking at the rest of the clay-pit holes that I have to dig out for me roses and I've come over all faint.

Gardening should never be contemplated on a full tummy of cheesy beans

hot Dang! i miss cheesey beans, brats won't eat them

might do some for myself though.

always do mine with grated cheese into the baked beans as they heat, then add nice splosh of WS.although my mum used to add proper brown sauce HP

I do three versions of cheesy bean:
          1. make cheese on toast and then pour beans over the top
          2. make toast, warm beans, pour beans over toast and cover with grated cheese
          3. pour over a baked spud
...all need a steaming cup of hot tea with it, vodka honestly doesn't work

When LadyWayne and I first met (place of work), there was a shop round the corner from the office that used to do cheesy chips and beans. Same principle, just more fat.

Made Welsh rarebit the other day - can't believe that I've never made it before, it's so good and so easy! Melt a knob of butter and a big handful of cheese over a slow heat with a good pinch of mustard (the yellow powder kind) and freshly ground black pepper. Spread over toast and grill until bubbling. Oh heck, I'm hungry now!!

My mum used to cook cheese in a pan Yo, with chopped onion & milk & then serve it with bread & butter, perfect for clogging your arteries no doubt but tasted lovely!
Piskie, I think all that you should do after 'cheesy beans' is lie down & let it settle, no digging etc.!

Cheesy beans - either grated in the pan or grilled on toast (I aint fussy!) has to be one of my all time fav comfort eats

Strangely enough - I opened one of the last tins of Baked Beans we have stashed away over here just before you posted Piskie!....and I've got a small amount of cheddar cheese in the freezer!

Will certainly try this though...I bet it's nice with mixed beans and spicy tomato sauce with the cheese on toast though???..and a good dash of HP sauce!

I'll have the cheesy beans without the beans please - I can only eat baked beans with chips...no idea why as I love beans themselves. Just not baked beans unless with chips.

I used to make a neat baked bean curry though...aah - days of being a student/poor!
