  • Chatsworth Anyone?

Just wondered if anyone's going to the Big House this weekend? Nice country event if you haven't been before. Lots going on, (including Alan Titchmarsh doing various things) and the food is FAB. Does get busy but you can pick your time to avoid the worst of it.

We were supposed to be taking the grandchildren, but they have chicken-pox. We might go, just the two of us, but it won't be the same.

We went last year to the sculpture show; and do try and pop up once a year but not this weekend; the OH is in London village tomorrow and Sunday is the Village show and there is an open allotments in Derby that we are hoping to get to. Got to get back and reclaim our produce in a very tight window otherwise it will be auctioned off.

[Not that I mind it being auctioned, it just so happens that the best of our veg is also the heritage stuff that has been specially pollenated for seed saving....so I want it back!]

Well we're definitely not going now. OH has been told that he'll have to work either this weekend or next so I'm afraid it will be this one. Next week is Penistone Agricultural Show, I've eggs entered and there's a better chance of the grandchildren being well by then. Plus, Penistone is the one we attend religiously every year, Chatsworth is something we do from time to time. A shame as I bought a beautiful handmade leather dog lead and collar from there about 7 years ago and they're still going strong, I was hoping to pick-up another for our more recent addition to the pack.
