Default The Chat Thread.

The idea is of this thread is, that people can pop in when they have 5 minutes, put their feet up, have a little cuppa and a slice of cake (or a glass of something nice if the sun's over't' yard arm) and a bit of a natter. A place for the chat that doesn't really fit in What I Did Today, or doesn't warrant a whole new thread. Then every so often (maybe daily, or weekly depending how quickly it grows ) we'll clear the thread so it doesn't get too big & unwieldy.

The name for the thread isn't set in stone, so if anyone has a better idea, suggest away

Settle in and enjoy folks!

------------------------------------------------------------------------

We've decided that the thread will be cleared when it gets to around 1000 posts, with the last few posts carried over if we can do it (I've yet to check that!), so the chat will naturally carry on.
Also, Sunday Night Chat will be hosted in here over the summer so that it doesn't have to be put on hold this year

I love jigsaws too - just as long as they only have two pieces! Anymore than that they are too difficult for me!
Hope everyone has had a good week. I'm just glad its Friday and I can relax a bit. Manic, manic busy at work, afraid I got very stressed yesterday, and went to bed when I got home at 530pm I did get up for a short while around 9pm (I came on here for a short while) then back to bed.
Im going into work tomorrow morning just to try to catch up, but there you go. Could be worse, I could have to do some housework and ironing (erm, that's Sunday....)

His Auntie Margaret was saying he was getting bored during the daytime (methinks, she is really). He bounced around like a good un when I went round to collect him tonight.
Thanks for your thoughts. Have told him (and the other night as well) and he's wagging his tail to say thank you!

My MIL loves Jigsaw puzzles and belongs to a club, they meet once a month, or is it twice, anyway they have a huge store of puzzles and they borrow them to do at home, great idea as its a cheap way if you dont have much money. We are always looking out for 2nd hand ones for MIL then when she has done them she gives them to the club. She only likes 1,000 piece ones.

have just looked them up,my some challenging ones there,in my younger days,i did really big ones,i can well remember a countryside scene with you name it,it was in the picture, cannot remember how many pieces, but it was approx,a good 3ft x2ft something, dad talked me through how to make a picture with it,hardboard with a little frame around,i remember proudly sanding it all down before the picture was glued on,
the ones i do at the moment are on the free jigsaw web site, they are fine when i just want a rest time as i am compelled to get it done, then chan the cut a few times, very interesting, nice to meet more jigie lovers

Evenin' all! I suppose it had to come, but all the fields are flooded now the snow's melted! While we were out earlier saw sheep standing in the middle of a flood, guess the river had burst it's banks and they'd got caught in the middle (tel call made!).
I'm going for my MRI tomorrow (they work on Sundays apparently) - bit apprehensive (just in case they find/don't find something), got my CD ready - Jools Holland, should be upbeat enough to keep me distracted!

Morning all

Beautiful sunny morning here

All the best for today CF. Take care and relax. Only worry about things you can alter, those things you cannot, it's not worth worrying about

Cna anyone let me have the website for jigsaws is it a swop scheme or on a like for like basis. I love doing them but they are expensive to buy even from a charity shop

Well that was interesting! MRI wasn't too bad, until the end when there was a lot of vibration to go with the noise and I felt as if I was tipping up! I'm a bit off balance (hence the MRI), didn't take a corner cleanly and put my hand out to steady myself, the other patient noticed and asked if I'd had a good night last night! I was quite miffed - I've got used to it and didn't think it was that noticable anymore! Whole experience was very Dr Who'ish, I particularly like the fact that the machine's called a Magnetron

Don't know whether this fits but need to vent some frustration after nightmare day at work. Can't go into too much detail but to gloss over it, the management team are expecting me to make a silk purse out of a sows ear whilst only providing a mouse ear.

Scream away Karen - I know how you feel. Usually the unreasonable demands stem from crass ignorance and lack of common sense. I find that all you can do in these circumstances is try and educate and inform - in as patient a tone as you can muster!

I like jigsaws too I've just finished one (Mike Jupp's I love Great Britain) 1'000 pieces.
I also like the wasgij series of puzzles(I have 30 of those)
In total I have about 40 puzzles at the moment.
I find charity shops are a good place to acquire jigsaw puzzles.

Evening all - unlike grumpy old Snadger, I quite liked the exotic names for the chat thread!

Anyway, I hope everyone is well I actually managed to spend most of the day outside - YAY - and got the Geese in their new pen, and the 'Old' Chooks in the Greenhouse to eat anything edible, like the grapes we didn't eat. When I left them they were merrily digging away and making those comforting little chirpy purring noises that they do when they're content - Awwww!

Managed to spend the entire day without a coat too - what a pleasant change. AND it was still light at 4:30 today. Oh, yeah, guess what - It's only about 8 weeks till we change the clocks!!!! How good is that?!

Hey Jeanie, yeah, I'm being good. Think the OH is fed up with being my nursemaid already though. Think he's looking forward to going back to work tomorrow.

Just hemmed 2 of DD new school trousers and darned a hole in the knee of a third. Sewing navy by hand in poor light is not good for the eyes Pinned the third pair will finish them tomorrow.
