    Cars keyed

    My friend and I both parked outside a friends house for a cup of tea. 10.30 in the morning in a lovely area.

    Both his car and mine were keyed alongside all panels on one side of the car.......mindless vandalism......why?????

    We both reported to the police. There response was "do you need crime numbers"?

    No we just wanted to be good citizens and report a crime! I don't suppose there's any chance of catching the offender........

    Good job I didn't!

          Know the feeling- it happened to our car a while ago in Bolton

            I hope you got crime numbers. I think the only reason that the stats say crime is dropping is because lots of vandalism etc never gets into the statistics.

              Even in lovely areas you can get neighbours from hell. Maybe it wan't mindless vandalism but someone pi**ed off for you encroaching half an inch on "their" parking space. Been there, had it happen to me.

                  There were only our two cars on the road....thankfully. Otherwise some others mightn't have been done...

                        You need crime numbers for insurance claims. Doesn't mean the police will do anything about it though. I still think you need to report every crime that occurs. If you report, then the police have to log it.

                          Always get a crime reference number.
                          The more crime that is reported the more police funding an area qualifies for. Well that used to be the theory. ;-/
