  • Carrying slabs

Tomorrow I have to carry 60 (!!) paving slabs for a distance of approx 80 yards - one at a time.

Anyone wanna give me a calorie count on that lot please

Nope - but a large slice of Cake would be about right as a reward!

Can't you put three or four at a time in a barrow?

You may be 'aaaaaarrrrrrrd, but your back will kill you if you try to carry them all. If you can't get a barrow can't you borrow a pram or something>

                      Seeeeeeeeee!

Pisk + Slabs = Bad back, grazed knees, sore fingers, looooong day.

Pisk + Barrow + Slabs = Short day + Choccie Gateau (or reward of your choice) with ZERO guilt

                      Seeeeeemples!

                      Trust me - I'm a skiver!!!!!

Walk them. I walked a load of 2ft 6 x 2 ft slabs. I couldn't have carried them but if you shift them corner to corner it's a load easier.

While you are out getting the barrow, Piskie, make sure you get some good gardening gloves to lift with - ones with rubber palms to help the grip - nothing worse than dropping a slab on your foot!
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

                            I use a sack truck.
B&Q had some last year for £10 you could always go see if they still have any left
Oh if you have a B&Q near by.
