Default Camera shy robin

I've been clearing my garden of it's brambles and general stuff that my son has dumped in it over the last two years (bits of car(s) as far as I can tell).

A robin has been keeping me company. Every time I take my camera out to snap him he disappears. .

Our new digi cam has a long zoom on it. Here's one of our robby's, a good 20m away I reckon. (Shot through glass, which is why its muzzy!)

I'm sure NTG will be along soon to show us how it should be done.

I have a friendly Robin aswell, everytime i'm out he's there, nearly got him to eat out of my hand last year. Trouble is I always end up talking to him (only when no one is around)

One was following me round the other day as I was clearing the pampas clump. He sat on a trellis just 2ft from me. My hands were too mucky to get the camera out!

Don't worry, I talk to my plot robin all the time. He's camera shy too!

And me! I couldn't believe how bold mine was. He (she?) is always singing away and even landed on the handle of the fork I was using on Wed as I crouched down pulling out the weeds. He always seems a bit grumpy to me i.e. "chuck me a worm or else get out of the way so I can look for myself"! The kids love it when he's around (though I love it best when it's just me and him !

Sounds like the one out our front. Comes within 6 foot as long you don't have a camera in your hand

Oh no! I hate being followed around by my resident Robin, and if he appears on the lottie he's shooed away immediately - he once pulled up an entire row of young leeks in the belief that it was grass (which just happened to have grown in a perfectly straight row ). Mine never sits engagingly on a spade handle, but more sort of lounges around, - preferably with a can of slug bait in one hand - and he's definitely not camera shy, his mug's just been all over the local press as he was doing some mad charity thing, and you should see some of the photos from no 1 daughter's wedding - really I think he's more peacock than robin.

(I love him really!)

Nice one NTG! I think you're supposed to glue them to the cake though!
