Just spotted my first cabbage white butterfly of the season, so I'd best get the brassica nets out.
    Anyone else spotted them yet?
    Location....East Midlands.

Yes, the first little boggers have been out for a fortnight here

Saw a white thing flutter by last week. Didn't really note what it was, but quite possibly a cabbage white!

One flew past me on the lottie yesterday. Saw a few other types too. Lots of ladybirds and bumble bees.

Saw a flash of red flutter past me this morning - and lots of huge bumble bees that seem to be bumping into things like the gutters and front door...

Not to mention the mating ladybirds - is anyone else simply surrounded by ladybirds? I think I may be renaming the famous Hitchcock film if they keep on like this!

My children are loving the mating ladybirds. They thought it quite funny that two were happily going at it whilst another watched. On my greenhouse steps too!!

I haven't seen a ladybird this year! Is this a record?
