  • Bum pains!

Spent an hour or so on Sunday dishing my compost bin out across the legume and root veg beds. Nothing too strenuous.
But it seems as I've not done any work in the garden in a while the old gluteus maximus isn't as toned as it used to be and I've got major bum-pains today

And no, it's got nothing to do with going to a gay bar on Friday night!

You need to start shakin' your thang on the dance floor a bit more, its great for the butt - or rock climbing, thats good too.

I too didn't really do anything too strenuous (leaf raking), but my hamstrings are as tight as Dicks hatband today. Much stretching last night and this morning has helped, but still.

I'd do some stretches, but not sure how to stretch those particular muscles!
Would probably look odd in the office anyway

A few years ago when I was at Uni, a housemate and I went to play badminton. I hadn't realised how much you 'clench' when you slam a shuttlecock, but the next morning I was in a fair bit of pain.
I went downstairs to make breakfast to see my housemate walking around like John Wayne too. He was relieved to discover it wasn't just him!

Have you got any T'ai chi seeds to swap?

Walking is toning up my lower half a treat - did have stiff legs and bum the first few times, but now am increasing distances comfortably! Never felt so firm!!

Stretch - stand up straight, and bring your leg up at the front, gently drawing knee into chest. Do it slow and steady, should stretch glutes and backs of thighs a bit. Works for me.

Try a 'Downward Facing Dog' yoga position - its superb for your back, thighs calves and butt

I know you wrote leg, but I read legs and wondered how you were still standing.

I recommend shovelling manure; the pain I felt after Saturday's session was eased out by Sunday's session, and another one due today. And tomorrow. It's a hefty load!

I admit I haven't been able to bring myself to try it out yet.
                              Perhaps when i get home.
