    Budapest

    Mme P and I are off today for a short city break. Anyone been?
    Recommendations? I tried to talk her into going to the same place as "that" German insurance company but she wasnt having any of it!

    Ooooh, have a lovely time. Buda? or Pest? I've not been, but a friend went once, and keeps going back. She loves it. Take a camera (get Mme.P to show you how to work it ) to get piccies for all us stuck-at-home nosey beggars LOL

      We stayed in Pest but spent most of our time in Buda. Nice place, Buda is beautiful, Pest much more modern. Champagne tour on the Danube starting at 11 in the morning was most excellent.
      As a history buff, I loved a lot of the old part of Buda, but the Holocaust museum on the Pest side was incredibly moving.
      Food was tops, beer was cheap and plentiful, hotel was superb and the Queen Elizabeth bridge, all lit up at nights was muchos pretty. Only took about 300 photo's I think, will have a sort through and put a couple up for anyone interested.

        Yes, please. I've never been but people always rave about it. I'd love to see lots of pics.

          Not that there was ever any doubt lol. Glad you enjoyed it, sounds worth a visit. I'll add it to the list of destinations to drag the Caravan to when we win the Lotto!
