  • Bubble bath and shower gels

The other week we had a thread encouraging us to 'confess all'.....so Ive decided to "come clean"...........

The best way I like to relax is a long soak in a hot bath, which I do virtually every night. I've just had a count up in the bathroom of the open bottles of bubble bath and shower gel Ive got. I confess, there are 10 open bottles of various ones, with at least another 5 unopened. This does not include shampoos etc.

Go on, how many have you got open? Or is it just me?
Erm, 11 open bottles....................I missed one!

Not just you. I was fed up with the OH continually stocking up on shower gel, soap, deodorant and bubble bath. We had a tidy up of the bathroom cupboards and she has been banned from purchasing any more until the Welsh bubble bath lake has been depleted sufficiently (several half full bottles).
Excuse me, could we have an eel? You've got eels down your leg.

Same here. He's a devil for BoGoFs, our bathroom looks like a branch of Boots.
We have clear plastic boxes for our bathroom stuff - I have two, he has nine, full of face masks, scrubs, creams, gels, under-eye potions, shave balms etc

Although we have a bath, we are on a water meter, so never use it
My OH loves Original Source Lemon shower gel....I quite like Lush stuff when I get it for xmas or so.
So in answer to the question currently I have no shower gel or bubblebath...saddo arent I?

Mr R likes a nice shower gel, shaving foam, a good moisturiser and that's about it. I don't like much hair product on blokes, and I'm not a huge fan of men wearing scent (I do like the odd one).

I'm right at the other end of that particular scale. I love nice skincare things and perfume. Dr Hauschka is my fave, and I'm a fan of niche fragrances, particularly Annick Goutal.

And to answer your question, erm...lots (but not as many as you).

Actually I'm not bad at all but my OH is a disaster! He's a favourite at the chemist. A fortnight ago he bought (and is using) 3 new shaving gels, 2 shower gels, 1 bubble bath, 2 different aftershaves and 4 hair products (he bought me 1 Dove shower). So that's 12 new products open and that's in addition to 9 various products already in use.

            21 for him I think.

I have to admit that I prefer my power shower - don't like a bath cos it seems to me as if I'm lying in dirty water I've got a water meter as well so a shower uses less water.

As for bottles of shower gels - I only have three - two are open (I use these alternately) and one spare. Then as soon as the two open ones are nearly finished I look for a buy one get one free offer to replace them. Same with shampoo. Is that sad or what?

Grrrrrr. Half empty bottles of shampoo , conditioner, shower gel etc are one of my pet hates. And why don't they put the empty bottles in the bin instead of back on the shelf?and while we're at it why can no-one put the new loo roll actually on the holder?
                Sorry got carried away.

Seems like a weird coincidence but the ads at the bottom of this page are presently for 'Shower Bathtubs Eire', 'Epsom Salt', and 'Growing Eyebrows'. Ok so the last one might not fit exactly with this topic - or maybe it does??

I am afraid I am one of those annoying people who refuses to open a new one til the old on is comlpetely gone. But then I mail order organic chemical free products and they cost more. So they have to be upside down in a jug when they get low til I get every drop out!

I have a rattan basket which has one of mine, plus shampoo and conditioner, then the boys have one and their shampoo and OH has one and his shampoo. Still adds up to a lot of bottles!

I only have one bottle of shower gel, bubble bath and shampoo open at a time and its all the same brand, Dove its the only thing I've tried that doesn't make me come out all blotchy.

Its mostly the hubbys stuff that clutters up my bathroom Ive got a couple of things but he has about 20 deoderants and at least 10 aftershaves and 10 matching shower gels all open and sitting on my bathroom shelves. My cabinet is full to the brim with his other potions and lotions. It can drive a gal mad.

I'm the one guilty for filling the bathroom with bottles and bottles. They are not for me but for hubby. He only uses Sanex and I wait until they are half price and then I buy, buy, buy. He currently has 8 big bottles of shower gel (unopened) and 7 roll on deo. Me, I buy Source as and when I need it.
