  • BT Internet problems

Hi, we seem to be having trouble with our email and some internet sites. Our provider is BT. Just wondering if anyone else is having trouble with them - or is it just us again?

Thankfully, obviously, the vine is still okay

We keep 'dropping off' our Orange broadband, sometimes only for 10 seconds, sometimes a few minutes. It's really annoying, but they say they can't see any reason for it. BT insist it's nothing to do with the line

Glad yours is sorted now Shirley

I have a theory that they move the slowness around the country - to even out the tempers of customers - tis probably crap, my theory, I mean - but you never know

I'm with BT and no problem here - but I think Piskie may have a point.

depending on what time it is and what isp you have 90% of the internet slows down due to demand and throttling if your on a decent connected speed (over 4 megs ) you will hardly see the difference but if your on the basics (1-2 meg) then you will notice a drop in speed what you should do is monitor the times and speed then ask your isp for an explanation as to why your speed is dropping and also they might be able to boost your line

I bet you have squirrels on the line, blow down the phone to shift them.

Before we moved we had 2.2 meg now we've got snail-pace broadband

When it all goes slow for me I shut down my browser (Google Chrome) and re-open it again and it seems to sort it. Dunno why, I'm not that much of a techie!
