  • Bricklayers

Yesterday afternoon - on the way to the lottie - I passed a building site which has been cleared but no buildings started due to the credit crunch. The site is behind a brick wall, which has started crumbling, and I have noticed both kids and young foxes playing in the area as I drive past the gap in the wall.
Yesterday some brickies started work - seemed to be making very slow progress. By the time I went out at 8pm they were back at work - bricklaying in the dark! I have to say that in the cold light of day - they made a rubbish job of it.
Seems they didn't suss ur ration of daylight is a bit limited these days!
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

Yes but I don't think their labourer could carry as many bricks as this chap?

The river Trent is lovely, I know because I have walked on it for 18 years.

Not only is his balance incredible, and his loading technique impressive in itself... but he doesn't exactly look like a mountain of a lad - that's a LOT of brick to carry on a single head. Most people would struggle carrying that far along a flat in their arms! Getting off a boat via a wobbly plank is a pretty impressive feat all things considered!

Bit daft doing any remedial brickwork when frosts are likely too.
