  • Bricking it

I have been voted the chairman of our local councils Recreation and Open Spaces Committee (includes allotments ). My first meeting is tomorrow. It also coincides with a meeting of our District council.

I was advised to ring around the committee members to ensure they turn up, but they want to barrack our "unitary authority" who couldn't care a flying whatsit about our town.

I think my first chairman experience in over 20 years is going to be "unquorate".

I want to be at the DC meeting to barrack them as well. I was told a postponement wasn't on.

I'm really not happy: a) about being a chairman; b) about lack of people at my first committee.

    Onward and upward .

Look on the bright side, perhaps you can get some motions passed that you wouldn't ordinarily manage, and you'll be home in half the time without all the bickering.
I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.
