yeah get a breadmaker and they give you a recipe book with it i have a morphy richards fastbake ..... it's wonderful, i make all my own bread, and the best bit is, you canjust chuck everything in, set the timer so that you wake up to the smell of freshly baked bread ..... i used to make my own by hand, but it was never as good as the bread maker makes it. or as easy.

Yep, another bread-maker fan, here. Tip all the ingredients in and you don't even have to knead. Hurrah! I add some wholegrains, too, for a REALLY tasty and healthy loaf!

another thing, it's so easy to use even my son makes bread .... it was never that easy to get him to go to the shop for a loaf lol ....... mostly i make wholemeal, and stick seeds in, but i was in lidl the other day, and their white bread flour was only 45p a bag, so we're on white with seeds at the moment. argos was cheapest for the fastbake when i got mine.

Yup, love my breadmaker too. Sometimes I just use it to make dough, then bake as rolls or a more traditional shaped loaf. Now I've made myself hungry - off for some bread and real butter :-)

Yep! Breadmaker here too! My sisters bought me one for Christmas (they assume too much sometimes), and I love it. I tend to just use the fast cycle and get a fab loaf in 1 hour 10 mins. Use it all the time - totally recommend.

I just use my food processor to mix mine,

750g strong flour (wholemeal, white or a 'half and half' mixture makes a less dense loaf)
                    400ml lukewarm water
                    30g marg
                    2 teasp salt
                    1 sachet easy mix yeast

Put all the ingredients except the water in the food processor and run until the marg is rubbed in. Add the water and mix until a ball of dough is formed. If the processor will take it, knead for another minute. Turn out into a large bowl, I usually hand knead just to form a neat ball. If the gluten is developed enough it will return like an elastic band when you stretch the dough.
Leave to rise in a warm place until doubled in size, at least an hour. Shape into rolls (16) or loaf, allow to rise again until it looks 'puffy'. Bake 210C for 10-15 minutes for rolls, 30 mins for loaf.
OR form into loaf or rolls, cover loosley with cling film and put in the fridge overnight. You can do this straight after mixing, although the rise might give larger 'holes'. The bread should rise slowly in the fridge. Bake as before.

The prep time doesn't take long, but you need the rising time for the yeast to grow. All my children (16, 18 and 20) make bread quite happily, so it isn't hard. In fact No 1 son is taking my old food processor back to uni with him so he can bake his own bread!
I could not live without a garden, it is my place to unwind and recover, to marvel at the power of all growing things, even weeds!

I love my breadmaker too. My favorite bread is honey and walnut wholemeal.

I make my own bread in a Panasonic breadmaker, Bloom. Twice as good as supermarket bread and a third of the price as the stuff they sell. Makes great bases for pizzas too.

I sometimes bake bread by hand but picked up a breadmaker on Freecycle last month. It's pretty poor though and bread takes about 4 hours and comes out like a breezeblock.

I make my own bread too. Stove is on all the time so I don't bother with a bread maker.
I am told bread makers can only produce small loaves.
