There are no gardening bores on the vine, just fantastic, friendly, helpful folk

She can't help being a one dimensional person I'm sure.

Ever had an interesting conversation with a journalist (apart from you of course Paul)?

I've just sent this to her:

I challenge you, Carol, to visit this site and tell me gardeners are bores.
Grow Your Own - GYO Allotments, Growing Fruit & Vegetable Advice, Gardening, Chickens, Seeds for Sale & Organic foods

and yes, I did leave my name and contact details

Bloody good idea piskie. Be interested to see if:

a) she replies
b) she posts
c) she admits it

How many people would rather chat to a gardener than a journo (again, with exception to Paul).

Bet these people who call us bores don't object if they are given free fresh fruit and veg!

My Dad's eyes constantly glaze over when I harp on about how fabulous my chickens are but he still accepts the eggs.

I was in the middle of my response when the network went down.

Just another bandwagon they jump on; next week they will have forgotten what they were so anxious to insult this week and move on to their next victim.

I only get papers myself to put around the spuds on the lottie; best thing for them.

Like real ale bores, car bores and DIY bores, gardening bores need to realise that sometimes we're just taking a polite interest and we're not that bothered.

They're plants. They look nice. Get over it.
So whay does she feel the need to try take the p*ss out of us? What a piece of lazy, boring journalism. (and I only read the 1st and last para's!)

Carol love - must try harder!

I'd tend to think gardeners ARE superior beings...
...or certainly nicer people!

Her opinions aren't even worth the energy to comment upon, they are much less use to me than a fresh pile of horsepoo, which is about the correct level for her self righteous self important and oh so clever writing!!
