  • Bonjour from the city of lions

Well this week in the travel adventures of Bobleponge, I find myself in Oran, on the north coast of Algeria.
Much warmer than home, although not as warm as I was hoping.
Disappointingly I find myself living in the Sheraton hotel, with indoor swimming pool and a trouser press. No flipping slippers though, most miffed.

Called the City of Lions from the original Berber name for the city, because lions lived round these parts until around the 14th century, so I was told today by my driver.

Who are all looking for welders (brass monkeys, I mean). Lucky you Bob. Shame about the slippers though.

I think I could cope without slippers in return for some warm sunshine. As it is I've got me sheepskin slippers (read boots!) on plus 2 pairs of socks...

              Jealous, moi?

Enjoy it while you can M. Leponge, slippers or no (shame work prolly gets in the way though?!).

You just know it involved a fountain pen

Can you not claim some slippers on expenses Bob?

                        Bob, enjoy.

Pas de Calais and the Brittany/Manche area meteo has been a nightmare. Snow down through the Massif, we're snowed in, about 30 cm of snow yesterday, meteo for this area is not good for next few days.

No slippers, on balance, ain't too bad!
