  • Bob Holness - RIP

I hope I am not the only one who used to watch Blockbusters back in the 80's at teatime?

Sadly the presenter "give me a P Bob" Bob Holness has passed away.

    He'll be fondly remembered...

Oh no! Bless him. I loved that quiz programme.

As you say though, fondly remembered.

I loved Blockbusters, have the blockbusters board game, which comes with a little device that plays the theme tune and tells you how to do the hand-dance at the start, for all us geeks out there!! RIP Bob Holness.

Think he did play James Bond, was it on the radio or something? Actually I'm embarrassed to say that I thought he had passed away already so am now wondering who I'm confusing him with. Used to love blockbusters, one of the girls in my year had a sister who was in in once, don't think they won much though but it seemed exciting when I was about 12.

Very early days as a radio broadcaster in South Africa I believe was when he played James Bond.

                Didn't believe he was 83.

                RIP.

Yes, the very first person ever to play james bond, on the radio of course, according to BBC Radio 4 this afternoon.

I loved Blockbuters - i think it was a good introduction to 'how to be a geek'; and for some very odd reason, really loved it when they did the handjive at the end.

                        Now I just cringe.

Had forgotten about the hand jive. Looks odd now but seemed perfectly normal then
