  • Bloomin N power, anyone had an experience with them?

    Hiya,

Been having looooooads of problems with npower, to start off with, despite chasing them they didnt send us a bill for a year! Even though its quarterly. We rung them constantly to get a bill but it never came, when it finally did arrive, with us being elec only as you can imagine it was alot of money. We had been putting money away but with hubby being disabled and me a full time carer we have little to no income. We were then reffered to first step and they said that pay 6 payments of just under a £100 a month and then they would reduce our bill. For some reason right at the beginning there was a mess up on the payments but none of us are sure where it has gone but it seems to have gone. However we were never notified of this and when we have asked we have ALWAYS been told the payments are upto date. Now they have told us 2 weeks before the last payment is due that there is a payment missing and they have removed us from this plan and were no longer going to help. I dont know if Im just being a pessimist but it all seems very convenient. I have been warned off of n power so many times but I was contracted into using them when I moved here.

Anyway, anyone have any ideas how I can combat this. I am trying to go through to there ombudsman but they are refusing to give us their number even though when I spoke to a solicitor they have said they are legally obliged to give out that number. AAAAAAAAARGH. Can I be a kid again and live with my mum and dad. I never had these worries then lol

I've been with nPower for, errmmm... *does sum* nearly 12 years? and never had a single problem with them.

I'd get in touch with either Citizen's Advice,or, look in the phone book for a local advocacy service. They often have more impact than an individual.

Sorry to hear of your woes.

I had some 'difficult' dealings with N Power some years ago and will not switch suppliers - whoever they are as a result of the aggro.

Wouldn't pee on NPower if they were on fire!

If they were a person of course.

        Which they're not.

        You get my drift.

        Hopefully.

        Hope you get it sorted.

We had considerable issues with them when my mum moved to a nursing home. I'd concur with HeyWayne on this one.

Definately citizens advice Jax, but while you are getting sorted keep making your basic usage payments. If they wont take them via DD or over the phone take their account numbers and pay via direct transfer online. That way it dont build up and they cant get any heavier.
Im having a 'LITTLE' hassle with them at the mo. We have a meter with a payment card, but although we take it to a paypoint outlet and put money on at least twice a month, they havent credited anything to our account since Aug 09.Fortunately I have all the paypoint reciepts so they cant argue. They say that the payments have obviously been misdirected and not to worry, they have all our card and meter details and it will get credited eventually. In the meantime it means we have arrears of over £700 on our account, which they are chasing us for by the simple method of resetting the meter to collect £20+ per week. Which a. we cant afford, and b. will go to the same place as all our other payments and therefore will not reduce our bill.

But the call centre peeps are usually very nice.

The call centres not usually too bad but the claims side are nothing but bullies. Hopefully will get sorted soon x

ok so after badgering them non stop, they have agreed to honor the £500 and from a seperate complaints team I have managed to get 10% off before the £500 gets taken off So, it definitely shows that persistence pays off! Never take there first answer, keep badgering them, ALWAYS ask to speak to a manger!!
