  • A Bit Wet.

Oh boy. Amis, our black labrador cross has really excelled himself during the night. Somehow he has managed to get behind the washing machine in the utility room and bite through the water inlet pipe. There was water everywhere. I've just finished mopping it up. As you can imagine the carpets are a right mess and where floating on their own little lake when I woke up this morning.

I now have to contact a washing machine repair man and our insurers. If I'm lucky I might get to the lottie at about 10 am.

Typical. First few days of dry weather and I get flooded.

Oh dear. Is Amis in the doghouse? I had a labrador cross collie many years ago and she managed to bite through the power supply cable to the fridge. Thankfully the dog was OK, but she never tried chewing wires again after that.

You have to wonder why! It must have taken some effort to get behind the wishy washy.

Hope you are cover snuffer, I know a lot of insurers won't cover damage caused by pets.
I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.

The damage to the washing machine is not covered but the water damage is. I have got the majority of the water mopped up, it's just the carpets that are all soggy and wet now.

I did tell him he was a bad dog this morning but you can only stay angry with him for 5 minutes.

Poor Phoebe (the Basset Hound) she was stuck in the utility room with Amis and was soaking wet when I went to get them up this morning.

Bet it was a bit of a shock when he bit into the pipe and it burst in his mouth.

oops, let's hope he doesn't develop a taste for pipes!

A neighbour of mine had a staffie-cross-somethingpowerful called Brutus (!) who was very protective of her and actually ripped the door off the washing machine whilst it was in full spin! He was in the dog-house for a while too!

oh and you should hear my husband when he tells the cats off for something (scrapping the carpet or sneaking in to lie on the beds or bringing in a furry dead thing)... it usually involves lots of cuddles and baby voices to them! Makes me smile every time - he just can't do cross with them!
