  • Beyond the call of duty

It's my son's birthday today. We do not go overboard on such occasions but when he called round this morning I completely forgot to give him a hug. He was in a bit of a rush as the family were off to Bournemouth for a couple of days chilling out. I knew they were staying at the Premier Inn so I rang them and told them the sob story. I asked if were possible for them to arrange for a cake to be put in their room. The receptionist went to ask her manager who instantly said that she would go out and buy one. She went to Marks and Sp. bought a beautiful chocolate cake for £10.99 and charged my card. They also put a note with it.
When you get service like that it makes you feel warm inside and I intend to let Premier Inn know what a treasure they have.

Oh how lovely! There are some really good people out there, and its nice to see them recognised. Well done to you too Bren for coming up with such a nice idea. You're a great Mum!
A good beginning is half the work.
Praise the young and they will make progress.

You CAN get kindness and good service. Usually we only hear about the other sort. Good on you for commending her to the company!

We live in a world where people complain easily so if some one goes beyond the call of duty it is great to commend them

What a lovely thought Brengirl and what a wonderful lady to go to the trouble to help make a special treat for your son.

Such a nice and refreshing story. I hope (am sure) the cake went down well and I bet the lady enjoyed her day - it's a good feeling knowing you've helped make someone happy. Lovely to read about it too.

really lovely thought and great to hear of people actually being nice just for the sake of it. Too many negative stories get the press too often....things like this warm the cockles of yer heart.

What a lovely idea Brengirl and how nice of the lady at premier to carry out your wishes. It's good to know there are some real people out there and not just corporate robots,
