  • Beer!

"We're going to stay in Beer" says LadyWayne to me one evening (some weeks ago now).

I thought my dreams had come true - a whole week in beer!

Well, I heard beer when in fact LadyWayne had said Beer. As in Beer, Devon.

We've booked a week in a gorgeous little cottage - it's out first family holiday as just the three of us (though BiL and Financee' may stay a couple of days with us). I'm so looking forward to it.

So, anyone know anything about Beer?

The river Trent is lovely, I know because I have walked on it for 18 years.

We stayed near Chard (which is just up the road a bit) for our honeymoon in 2001, and toured round the area quite a bit. We fell in love with it. The hedgerows and verges are amazing during May.

It's my birthday on Sunday so I'm off to Nottingham tomorrow so I will be visiting one or two of my favourite watering holes.

Nice place - we went to uni in Exeter so often visited local places. It's really small - not sure if you've been before, but in the summer you can take a peddle boat out - really nice

The Lincolnshire Poacher? Were you frequenting it as long as 15 years ago? Know the couple who ran it very well...

I don't know much about Beer, but what I've seen of it looks beautiful . You could try a spot of longboarding (it would have to be a longboard, I suspect) from Beer Point - shame not to give it a go?

I'd love to, but I'm not sure the world's ready for me in a wetsuit.

We're going at the end of June (at this point I'd usually mention weather, but we're not counting on that). Hoping to pay a visit to HFW's place which is a few miles away.

PadStein's nice - very pretty (as is often the way in Cornwall), we were staying in Falmouth (where SiL's from) and drove over to Padstow for the afternoon. Weather was lovely and we had an ice cream whilst watching the "speedboats" going back and forth. Loads of kids crabbing in the bay too!

                    I loves Cornwall I do.

Be great if you get to Hughs. He's recently opened a place in Bath I keep meaning to get to.

Never been to Beer. However, I'm a seasoned knitter and I stayed in Wool once. (There wasn't much around though!)

Quite expensive there I here. Ewe're more likely to get fleeced there than in any other place in the uk.
